Determining if there have been any complaints against a child care facility that you are considering enrolling your child in, or that you have already enrolled your child in, is strongly recommended. Doing so requires no detective work, only the determination to ask the question.
To find out, contact your state’s child care licensing agency and ask for this information, which should be a matter of public record, directly. However, the fact that some states don’t regulate child care facilities that care for small numbers of children may impede you from obtaining the necessary information.
