How do I write a resume?

Writing your resume can be an intimidating task, especially if you’ve never done it before. But if you take a step-by-step approach, doing so doesn’t have to be a nightmare.

  • Step 1: Write down all of your work experiences in chronological order, and list all of your job duties. This will help you formulate the basic structure. Once you’ve done that, add any accomplishments that you made, awards that you received, or positive changes that you helped influence.
  • Step 2: Write an “objective statement” for your resume. This is a brief statement that states what you can bring to the company you’re applying with.
  • Step 3: Make a list of all your skills, including any special training you’ve received.

Once you have all of this down, it’s time to put it into order on the page:
