What skills do employers look for?

Different employers look for different skills, depending on the job they’re filling. However, when it boils down to it, all employers are looking for the same basic interpersonal skills

  • Honesty: Employers want to know they can trust their employees, and everyone knows it won’t benefit a company to hire a brilliant worker if that person can’t be trusted.
  • Work Ethic: Ability and experience are worthless to an employer if their worker is lacking this.
  • Social Skills: Work is about getting along with others and working toward a common goal. Companies don’t like to hire lone-wolf types.
