How do I pack China glass and crystal?

China, glass and crystal are the most frequently damaged items during a move. However, if you package them correctly, you can prevent damage, even under conditions that may expose them to moderate impact.

  1. All china, glass and crystal should be packaged in their own separate boxes and not mixed with other items.
  2. Layer the bottom of the box with packing peanuts.
  3. Wrap each piece individually in newspaper.
  4. Bundle small sets together.
  5. Place bubble wrap or packing peanuts between each layer.
  6. Once the box is full, fill all empty spaces with peanuts or wadded up newspaper.
  7. When the box has been sealed shut, mark FRAGILE on each side of the box so that it will be handled with care.
