Why does my dryer smell like it’s burning?

If you experience a burning smell coming from your clothes dryer when it’s in operation, this could be a sign that your blower assembly needs to be cleared of lint. This is a bit more involving than simply cleaning out your lint filter, and will require you to remove the front and top panels of your dryer.
- Unplug all connections from your dryer.
- Remove your lint filter.
- Remove the top lid of your dryer by unscrewing the bolts connecting it to the face of the dryer.
- With the front door of your dryer firmly shut, remove the front face by unscrewing the bolts that connect it to the frame of the dryer.
- Unplug the electrical wires attached to the face of the dryer.
- Once the face is removed, the dryer’s blower hole and blower wheel are exposed.
- Vacuum lint from both sections.
- Reassemble dryer.
