Our company manufactures and sells the Wafflemat Foundation Forming System. The Wafflemat system uses patented plastic boxes (called Waffleboxes) to form voids under concrete foundations on expansive soils. The voids created by Waffleboxes under the concrete foundations allow expansive soil to expand into the voids and thereby minimize the amount of uplift force on the foundations. Wafflemat system creates a more rigid concrete slab, with closely spaced two-directional beams under the slab, which minimizes foundation failures. The Wafflemat system can be installed on wet soil and in the rain. It is not affected by water. Waffleboxes are made from 100% recycled durable plastic and can be used for points in LEED projects.
