Worst customer service experience I have ever had. The owners (especially the secretary's) attitude got worse and worse the closer it came to closing time.
We tried to return a clean U-haul truck with the proper amount of fuel in the tank, and the owner would not except the truck because he said that the fuel gauge read below the required mark. I went back outside to check, thinking he mis-read it, and found that he had. I asked him to look at it again, and again he said it was below the mark. Long story short, we were there for almost an hour, had to call the U-haul central office to take care of the matter, and because one of our party asked the secretary to drop her attitude, they were kicked out of the building/lobby area. When looking at the fuel gauge WITH the secretary, even though we were looking at the same fuel gauge, she was also saying it was below the mark, and then said "it depends how you look at it."
At one point I thought I was on some ridiculous tv show where someone would pop out with a camera and explain the joke to us............not so.
Before I left, I took a picture of the fuel gauge (which was right on the required mark) to document and send to U-haul, and then exited the twilight zone as fast as I could.
These people were awful to deal with, incredibly rude to all of us, and made a difficult day of moving even worse. U-haul will lose a lot of business with these people representing their company..........they lost ours.
