Just got back from dinner at Hacienda Del Sol.
I haven't been this dissapointed in a Mexican restaurant that I can ever remember. The chips and salsa and drink order came quickly enough, chips were average but the salsa was very bland, in fact it honestly tasted like Ketchup, not at all like salsa. We asked for some Pico De Gallo as an alternative, and it was better, but we were charged for it.
I ordered a number 17 combo, enchilada, burrito, rice and beans. The cheese enchilada came with raw, sliced onions instead of the customary diced, sauteed onions, the cheese wasn't melted (still retained its shredded cheese form) and the enchilada sauce tasted like it was made from the same base as the table salsa. I could detect not even a hint of Chile in the sauce at all.
The chicken burrito was not much better unfortunately. It too had the same sauce on top, the chicken was cooked properly, but very bland, without any seasoning, so it ended up tasting like boiled chicken. The flour tortilla they used was store bought, which isn't bad in its own right, but it was very doughy, and was rolled like an enchilada instead of folded like a proper burrito.
The Rice and Beans likewise had no flavor.
The staff was unorganized, very young and inexperienced it seemed. There was no salt, hot sauce or silverware and napkins on the table until after our food arrived.I will say however, the beer was nice and cold.
I cannot recommend Hacienda Del Sol as a restaurant where one can get authentic, or even tasty mexican food.
I felt cheated that I had to pay for this meal.
