The apartment wasn't great to begin with. The owner has told me his cleaning crew had cleaned but the apartment was clearly not cleaned; there was dirt all over the kitchen floor, carpets hadn't been vacuumed, and there were cobwebs everywhere. My furnace was covered in duct tape, the doors to both bedroom were clearly used (bolt holes from previous use), I began to see cockroaches. I told the manager about them and he claimed he has never had any complaints but after speaking to my neighbors I found out all 6 apartments were infested with cockroaches. I tried everything to get rid of them..constant cleaning, bombing, traps, and boric acid but because all the other apartments were infested they would just come right back in. I kept letting the landlord know they weren't going away he kept telling me different dates he would come in a spray and never showed. I talk to a few past and present tenants and they said they had cockroach problems and a lot of other issues. I got a bill from them claiming I had a payed rent late all 3 months when i spoke with them they told me I had been been paying rent after the 5th (but when I signed me lease I was told I could pay up to till the 10th). The maintenance crew was so unprofessional; they replaced our roof for a week and would blare music at 7 in the morning, and they painted once without notifying us or putting up a sign and I got paint all over my clothes when i walked out of my apartment. When I could finally move I had a apartment application denied due to bad rental history; my landlord had told them I didn't pay rent on time and i owed back rent on september (it was only august 25th when I was denied). The next apartment I applied for I was accepted (did not put in down as my landlord) I left behind my couch and microwave (cockroaches) which I found out he was gonna sell them. The cockroaches were so bad they followed me to my new place but thankfully I got rid of them. I would recommend never renting here every!
