    by linda Lane
There Dog training class is a waste of money. 8 weeks and no change.
I had a person come to my house and in just 3 hours changed my Dog.
yes I have to keep up the home work but his lessons worked.
I Now have a great dog.

    not in stock

    by Hooyaah
Pet Smart is usually fine for all of your pet supplies and aquarium supplies. Where they are lacking is on not having large aquariums for sale and not having enough species of tropical fish available for purchase. Also the aquatic plants are usually in short supply. The tropical fish are not always healthy either. You can't have an item special ordered for you, and just today there wasn't a 48" light hood available for my aquarium because it was out of stock. I'll have to drive out of town to get what I need.

    Huge pluses, Huge minuses

    by Bizzy Mom
Love the store - great prices on food and a lot of great ideas come out of here (with me, to my husband's despair) ... However, NOT impressed with the grooming side of their business. After two failed attempts, I will be finding another groomer, someone who actually likes dogs and can deal with a dog not enjoying the grooming process.

I agree. I went to the groomer just to get my 12 wk old puppy's nails cut. It took three people to do it and when they were done they told me it would be a good idea to buy clippers and do it myself and not bring him back. I'm not impressed with their Vet either (Banfield Pet Hospital) After they neutered my pet, he had a bad reaction a few days later and they charged me a hefty extra fee to correct it.

There is a reason they can almost always work you in same day for grooming! The only thing they know how to do in the grooming department is make you sign a waiver so that they can shave your dog naked and save themselves the trouble of making your loved one look nice. My Bichon Frise, AND my father's Bichon Frise (different locations, different times) both got picked-up at Banfield instead of at the groomers because they were covered in hot spots and blood after being butchered. I go there all the time for overpriced supplies and food because they are conveniently located, but for grooming I go elsewhere.

Let me say to people out there. I am a local groomer. We are not "Miracle Workers". When a customer comes in and wants to keep their pet "fluffy", and the dog is a matted mess, we can only do so much. The safety of the pet is the Main Concern. Matting does not get severe by skipping one day of brushing or combing. We take pride in our work. Matting can cause very bad sores on the skin, not to mentions infections, we even see maggots! Most people treat their pets like "little people", if you did not brush your hair for months on end, could your hair stylist still provide you with your "wanted haircut"?

Also as far as grooming goes, accidents can happen but can be avoided when high maintenance pets are started at an early age and when thier parents keep up on the practice and "homework" at home, it makes for a pleasant visit for all.
