    Was Taken for a Ride!!

    by Paula1964
It was time for my 60,000 maintenance check for my Lexus. I called the Lexus dealership where I have all of my maintenance work done and was told it would be $876 but they would extend a 10% discount. In today's economy, that was still a lot of money! I noticed the Toy Doctor next to my gym and decided to stop by and get an estimate. I was told it would be $489 for the 60,000 mile maintenance. I thought "Wow! Those Lexus dealerships are really jacking up their prices". Buyer beware! About an hour after the car was in the shop, they called saying several things were wrong....to the tune of an additional $405! They performed a chassis lube (Lexus said this was not recommended or necessary); changed the trasmission fluid (again recommended at 90K miles or before "IF the vehicles is operated primarily while towing a trailer or using a camper or car-top carrier' - which mine has never been used for those purposes); changed the rear differential fluid (again recommended at 90K miles or before "IF the vehicles is operated primarily while towing a trailer or using a camper or car-top carrier'); and they said the antifreeze was a combination of red and pink and it should never be mixed and they had to flush the transmission (Lexus indicates the antifreeze is red and is mixed 50/50 with water making it pink. It is a problem if the red and green are mixed); and Toy Doctor rotated the tires but did not balance or align them afterwards. So I saved $29 after Toy Doctor agreed to a 10% discount. And to top it off, they accused the Lexus dealer of lying to me and being to "green" to know what they were doing. If I had taken my car to Lexus, it would have been washed, detailed, I would have been given a nice loaner to use for the day, and most importantly peace of mind that they were knowledgable and didn't just take advantage of some woman walking in the door with little to no knowledge of cars. Never again will I use Toy Doctor!!

    A new lifetime client!

I just wanted to send a personal "Thank you" to your company, in particular Oscar, your Service Manager, and the entire team that worked on my car in Littleton. I have a 98 Toy4Runner that was leaking oil pretty bad and I had taken it to another shop that told me it was leaking from where the transmission and engine connected and quoted me over $800.00 just to get in there to "verify" that was the problem, but in the end would probably cost me over $1000.00 to repair. I decided to get a 2nd opinion, Thankfully I found Toy Doctor. Oscar was very upfront and honest with me and was a pleasure to deal with. After agreeing to run diagnostics, it was discovered that the fuel filter was bad and was causing the leakage......a $100.00 repair!!!!!
