In 2008 I advertised with Yellow Book the cost was $497.00, only to find the TN# they published was not only incorrect....but a Competitor's TN#!!! Who knows how much business I lost. I was advised they cannot compensiate me for lost business, OK, I've learned my lesson. Of course I had paid them 'up front' and they keep promising to refund my PIF ad monies, however, I've yet to see the check, it's now October 2009!!!
From the very start I will admit I was skeptical of having a large company like this create a website for my business, I can tell you it came out more professional looking than anything I could have done myself, and at a fraction of the cost of what many local web design and marketing firms were quoting me. It was one of the easiest decisions I could have made. It's been up for 4 months now, and I just started webreach, the search engine advertisements service that Yellowbook offers. I also very much like the fact that I only have to work with one person to get everything taken care of. I know that I can call my ad consultant at anytime to go over my website and make changes and they are handled immediately. There's no waiting, no calling 5 different people, and the bottom line is this:
All of my advertising with Yellowbook & Yellowbook.com over the past 8 years has been cost-effective, in other words, it's more than paid for itself. I utilize yellowbook's lead tracker call recording service so that I know every call that I get from my yellowbook advertising. I also use coupons and source codes in my advertisements.
Anyone who is skeptical of this company, DON'T BE. There's a reason Yellowbook is still flying high in this marketplace and their competition <name omitted> is in Chapter 11 protection and being sued for cooking the books.
Trust them, they'll get you results.
I'm not sure what REWInc is talking about in his post, but he must not have taken advantage of any of the tracking features like call recording from yellowbook. I've been an advertiser with this company (and predecessor, TransWestern Publishing) since 2001 and have always had a great experience. I figured out that if I called my local office (Where the salesperson came from) I got much better service. It seems to me that they could absolutely use more training and empowerment in their call centers, but their local offices can truly help out.
Yellowbook is putting together the best in the business websites! The are informative, eye catching, and just plain awesome! You can't beat the price either. Thanks Yellowbook for really bringing such a great service to the regular guy at such an affordable price!
