How Does a Gravestone Company Set Their Stones Up Vertically?
A headstone is an important marker to honor and celebrate a loved one who has passed. After hiring a gravestone company to design and build a gravestone, people are faced with the decision to either hire a mason to install the headstone or let the gravestone company do it for them. Most cemeteries have guidelines regarding how gravestones should be installed, with one of the most common methods being setting a headstone vertically.
There are a couple of things a gravestone company should do when setting a gravestone vertically.
According to the video, after production, the gravestone is loaded onto a truck with a crane and ferried to the cemetery, where it will be installed. The second step is installing the base stone, where the actual gravestone will be situated. The base stone is craned onto the desired mounting spot and secured. The third step is craning the actual gravestone on top of the base stone. At first, the headstone is suspended on top of the base stone using timber pieces. Once the installer confirms that the position of the gravestone is okay, the timber pieces are removed. Finally, the gravestone is secured and polished using a microfiber cloth.
