Like most things in life, not all personal injury attorneys are created equal. Because of this, you'll want to ask some questions before hiring a personal injury attorney. Here are a few questions you can ask to help you determine if they are the right personal injury attorney for you.
First, ask "What are your fees?" Most firms will have a contingency fee. A contingency fee means that unless there is a recovery, you don't pay anything. For example, if your case does not result in you getting paid for your injuries, you do not have to pay the attorney.
Next, ask "Am I responsible for any of the costs related?" You may be, however, you don't pay upfront, but pay it from any settlement in most cases.
Third, ask "Will my case go to trial?" Most cases are settled outside of court without having to go to trial, but every case is different.
Lastly, ask "What is my role in this case?" You've been injured, so it is your job to get appropriate treatment from doctors such as a physical therapist or a chiropractor.
