Is an Orbital Sander Enough for Sanding Hardwood Floors?
Is it possible to use an orbital sander for sanding hardwood floors? That will depend on a variety of factors. An orbital floor sander will work just fine if the floor only needs moderate sanding and is in ordinary condition.
An orbital sander has fewer chances of harming wood floors, is lighter, and is simpler to use.
A floor cannot be resurfaced with an orbital floor sander if it has thick coatings, is heavily coated, or is covered in glue and paint. The weight of the orbital floor sanding machine is insufficient to apply sufficient pressure to the floor to remove glues and oil paints.
