A septic tank pump out is critical if the tank becomes blocked and overrun by non-biodegradable substances. All properties with sinks, toilets, basins, and baths have septic tanks installed. Septic tanks are one of the first things established before a property is built from the ground up.
Carry on watching this video as Richard Trethewey and Kevin O'Connor from "Ask This Old House" demonstrate the function of a septic tank.
All the waste from the toilet and drains inside the property flows through to a main pipe leading to the septic tank under the ground. With solids stored in one section, the liquid waste moves to another unit. The septic system separates the liquid from the solid through a natural biological process. The liquid is then processed some more through the leaching chambers containing rocks and sand. Thanks to this simple yet innovative system, the water can be reused for the same process.
However, septic tanks can be ruined when the wrong substances enter the system. For instance, non-biodegradable things like clay cat litter or paint solvents are some bad things that can damage the process and block the tank. Substances that don't break down get trapped, and a septic tank pump-out is required.
