Choosing Between Water Filtration and Water Softening

Health and safety are a priority in every family. Especially when it comes to fresh drinking water. For many, this means adding a water softener or water filtration system to help eliminate the chemical taste in water and remove certain chemicals from the water. Many people may use these terms interchangeably.

However, they are not the same, as explained in the Youtube video "Water Softener Vs. Water Filtration System: Which One Should You Choose?"

Choosing a Water Softening or Filtration System

Knowing the difference between these two systems is essential as this may help to select the most appropriate system for a property. A water filtration system is designed to remove various types of debris and harmful chemicals from water, such as chlorine, bacteria, and lead. A filtration system may also improve the taste and smell of water.

A water softening system only removes certain chemicals from the water that make the water hard. These may include calcium or magnesium. This kind of system may not necessarily improve the taste or safety of the water.

In some cases, a water-softening system may suffice, whereas a softening and filtration system may be required in other cases.
