The first myth is that cheese is the best bait to use for rodents. This myth comes from the idea that rodents love cheese above all else. Rodents do enjoy cheese, although not more than many other foods and cheese serves as a poor bait. Cheese is very easy for a rodent to collect from a trap without setting off the pressure trigger. The second myth is that having natural rodent predators around will repel them. While these animals do tend to hunt rodents, they will not singlehandedly keep rodents away from the home. Rodents are typically capable of hiding or escaping from these predators pretty well. The third myth is that rodents only invade homes that are dirty or messy. While it is true that messier homes will make it easier for rodents to hide, they will invade clean homes as well. A home needs to be inspected for possible openings, dense vegetation around the outside of the home, or standing water around the property. .
