A small machine is used to dig up the old driveway. The debris is loaded into a dump truck load after load until all the old materials have been removed. It is a lot of hard work to pave a driveway.
Once the material is cleared the driveway is leveled by a machine and then by hand. The leveled surface is prepared for the new paving. Some of the work is done by hand. Next, more equipment is brought in, and paving material is dumped in the driveway and spread out by another machine. The video is time lapsed so things move very quickly. In real-time the first part of the job, removing the old driveway is done on day one, and on day two the new paving is installed.
