Had a starter went bad and tried to do it myself. Needless to say I mess the job up. Call Ernest and he gave me a price since I had to buy a 2nd starter. Got a new one for my do it myself project which I messed up.
Go another from advance auto parts and too it to ernest, he gave me a price. The 2nd starter failed upon install. Took it back to Advance the tested it and admit to selling a bad one.
Now this second uninstall was not a part of the price quoted. I am not even calculating the reinstallation price of the new one. Which failed again, and advance admitted that the core was bad. Since it was a warranty on the first starter, they could not refund the money.
I didn't want another starter. Ernest found me a starter, installed it and only charged my for the starter and install price. He explained how parts are graded and in simple terms, if a doctor passes his/her examination with a 'C" grade, it does not mean they are not a doctor.
My point, let your mechanic get the parts, do the job and have your money and time saved for something else, like family time. Thanks Ernest for building my confidence and you have a customer for life.
