Commercial glass companies sell four types of glass doors based on the hinges. These are butt-hinged glass doors, continuous hinged glass doors, offset pivot glass doors, and center-hung glass doors. Center-hung doors pivot at the center axis and have a concealed overhead closer. Continuous hinges run the entire height of the door frame with pivot points attached to it. Butt-hinged doors are similar to most traditional interior doors in many homes. Offset pivot doors are the least expensive among commercial doors. They are closely related to surface-mounted closer doors. The closer is mounted directly to the door face or frame, not concealed.
