The Manicurist Takes the Following Steps:
1.
Sanitize the client's hands and sterilize metal tools.
2. Clip long nails. File the nails using a fine emery board. File from each end to the center. File downwards to remove excess bits.
3. Apply cuticle cream by using an orange wood stick and dot each nail. Massage in the cream.
4. Soak the hand in a nail bowl filled with water.
5. Dry the hand. Wrap cotton wool around the orange stick and push back the cuticle gently on each nail.
6. Use cuticle nippers to remove excess cuticles and any hang nails.
7. Massage the arms, hands, and fingers using effleurage and petrissage techniques. Rotating the fingers and thumbs helps with joint mobility.
8. Remove grease from the nails by applying nail varnish. Apply the base coat. Then apply two coats of nail polish. Leave a hairline gap between the cuticle and polish. Apply top coat.
9. Neaten the nail with nail varnish remover.
