The type of tile you use decides how soon you can walk on the flooring. Vinyl tile and linoleum tiles take overnight to cure. Expect to enjoy the new floor within 24 hours. Ceramic tile, porcelain tile, granite, and marble tiles all take longer. For best results, avoid walking on these tiles until they’ve cured for up to 48 hours.
Vinyl and linoleum go down faster on a floor because they don’t require the use of spacers. All other tile types need spacers in between them to create the area for the grout. Fill in the grout around the tile after placing the tile.
With all types, start in one corner and work your way across or down the floor. This saves you from needing to cut as many tiles to fit. The majority of the tiles go down on the floor full-sized, which saves you time and effort.
