Whether you're replacing a section that's sustained holes from severe weather or the test of time, or filling in a trouble spot to provide better protection, using this simple checklist will prepare you for a gutter installation.
1. Accurately Measure the Roof
Before you contact a supplier, you should have your measurements readily available. Ensure your roof measurements are accurate so you order the proper amount of materials.
2. Pinpoint Slopes
Mark your points of downward slope to ensure proper drainage.
3. Downspout Outlet
Cut out the measurements for your downspout outlet first, making the V-shape with a hammer and chisel, ensuring a snug fit.
4. Cutting Your Gutters
Cut the length of the gutter according to the slope markers you created from the second step.
5. Mounting
Mount your new sections of material and install the supports before ending with a downspout attachment.
