How Home Septic Tanks Are Installed

When you need to have a septic tank for your home, you need an experienced septic tank installer to do the job. A septic tank, and its lines for plumbing, are all buried deep within the yard. This requires a large hole to be dug in the yard with an excavator.

It's important to wait until the soil is relatively dry so that there aren't any issues with mud and the shifting that it can cause. Once it's dry, the hole can be dug. Depending on the amount of space that you have, there may also be hundreds of feet of septic lines that have to be buried. This is often not done at the same time as the septic tank is buried. It's a big job and often needs its own dedicated day for work. Once the hole is completed and has been tested and found to be level, a truck brings the septic tank to where the hole is located. Then, equipment located on the truck is used to lower the tank down from the back of the truck into the hole. The excavator is then used to refill the hole so that the septic tank is buried.
