The first pizza was delivered in Naples, Italy in the year 1889. King Umberto and Queen Margherita demanded a man named Raphael Esposito to deliver a slice of pizza pie from the Pizzeria di Pietro e Basta Cosi (which is still a famous food tavern to this day). Since this pizza was delivered to the King and Queen's doorstep, takeout has been a staple around the globe.
The first-ever restaurant to advertise itself as a takeout food delivery restraunt came about in Los Angeles, California in 1922, when a Chinese establishment named Kin-Chu Cafe branded itself as the only place making and delivering real Chinese dishes.
