Secure the stringer to the lower landing by fastening them with eight-diameter galvanized nails. Gradually extend the treads once you have measured the space from the riser's foundation to the top of the notch. Using 4x4-inch lumber for the outdoor staircase posts, trim the pillars, and attach the posts to the stringers.
