We take pride in the heritage of this quaint family hotel, bar, & restaurant located in the heart of Irish country. Est. in 1849 as a hotel and stagecoach station, it has always been the meeting place for local socializing, receptions, showers & community events such as benefits. Because of its long standing social involvements, tradition & folklore run rampant. Old timers and former owners claim there are spirits watching over the Inn to keep it safe from harm. Some say it is a single spectator, that of a bartender who was stabbed by local brothers while breaking up a fight. The brothers were let out of jail 6 months later because they were needed on the farm. Others disagree and insist that there is more than 1 spirit and they are former locals who lived and died at the hotel. Whichever the cases might be, there are many previous proprietors and residents with numerous accounts of times the phantom miraculously forewarned them of an upcoming hazard and saved the hotel from fire & other disaster. We hope the friendly ghosts will assist us in carrying on all the traditions of this fine old establishment!!
